This course studies biases in decision making, drawing on research in behavioral finance and psychology, and develops insights for business and financial market contexts. Examples of topics covered include studying links between overconfidence and optimism in entrepreneurship as well as financial markets; understanding price bubbles and whether they are driven by irrational consumers; and how are new forms of financing such as crowdfunding susceptible to behavioral biases?

Profesores

Alexander Coutts

Alexander Coutts has been an Assistant Professor of Economics at Schulich School of Business, York University, since 2021. Previously he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Nova School of Business and Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (2015) from New York University, USA. During his studies he was a researcher at New York University’s Center for Technology and Economic Development, based in Abu Dhabi. His research fields are Behavioral Economics, Development Economics, and Experimental Economics. His interests center on applying insights from behavioral economics to questions in development economics. He uses laboratory and field experiments to understand the interaction between information, beliefs, and behavior.

Condiciones

Eventualmente la Universidad puede verse obligada, por causas de fuerza mayor a cambiar sus profesores o cancelar el programa. En este caso el participante podrá optar por la devolución de su dinero o reinvertirlo en otro curso de Educación Continua que se ofrezca en ese momento, asumiendo la diferencia si la hubiere.
